PURPOSE:To provide an ultrasonic Doppler diagnostic system having an auto- tracing function of exact Doppler waveforms. CONSTITUTION:A noise level detecting circuit 32 determines a region of a low existence probability of Doppler waveforms isolated at a prescribed distance from the base line of the Doppler waveforms as a data sample region and detects a reference noise level from the luminance distribution of the respective pixels in this region. An auto-tracing circuit 34 auto-traces the Doppler waveforms with this reference noise level as threshold. As a result, the influence of noises on the tracing processing is minimized and the auto-tracing of the extremely exact Doppler waveforms is made possible.
