A call-center system (100) has call-center functions at a first site (102), and provides the functions to a second site (104) where one or more agents have one or more telephones (158, 160) connectable to a network switch (110) at the first site. Loop-around circuitry (120) provided in the network switch allows agents at the second site to establish continuing connection with the call-center functions until the agent hangs up. Outside calls established from the first site may be then selected and routed to the agent or agents at the second site via the loop-around circuitry, without necessity of establishing a new call connection with the agent's telephone. In a preferred embodiment, the agents are provided with computer stations (159, 161) proximate to the telephones, and the computer stations are coupled to the call-center function via data links (172). |
