PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a fire in a state where the resonance radiation of carbon monoxide occurs. SOLUTION: The fire detector is provided with a casing 14 having an aperture part 12, a filter 16 fixed to the aperture part 12 in the casing 14 by adhesive 18 and a detection means 26 arranged close to the filter 16. The filter 16 is constituted of evaporating 2nd and 3rd members on a 1st member constituted of a quartz plate by vacuum evaporation. Since electromagnetic waves larger than prescribed length (wavelength longer than the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave radiated by the resonation of carbon monoxide by a prescribed value) are interrupted by the 1st member and electromagnetic waves shorter than the prescribed wavelength (wavelength shorter than the wavelength of an electromagnetic wave radiated by the resonation of carbon dioxide by a prescribed value) are interrupted by the 2nd and 3rd members, the filter 16 becomes a complete filter capable of transmitting only electro-magnetic waves in a prescribed wavelength band including 4.4μm and 4.7μm wavelength.
