PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To absorb the differences of color development, light emission, and media and fit color show to the colors of a forming picture and a display picture, by mapping the hue of picture data in a right direction in uniform color space in accordance with the color hue and the saturation of image data. SOLUTION: New target data obtained by rotating the hue of target data in the right direction in accordance with the hue and the saturation of target data is generated for matching color show between the different types of devices, such as a CRT monitor and a printer. The correction quantity is set for the respective saturations of the respective hues of R, G and B being three primary colors, as shown in a drawing. Correction quantity is interpolated for target data except for the three primary colors, so that continuity with the adjacent hues is kept so as to set the correction quantity. Correction quantity fitted respectively to a matching method taking priority over saturation, and a matching method taking priority over color show is used. Respective correction items are increased/decreased, while whole error quantity is observed, and LUT is generated with obtained data. |
