PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow an exchange to easily execute complicated protocol processing relating to a management cell, similarly to a flow of processing of usual cells and to have provision for new or revised standards or the like for future protocol processing attended with resource management(RM) cell processing and operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) cell processing flexibly. SOLUTION: A link interface section 1-i is provided with an input cell processing section 7-i and an output cell processing section 8-i arranged to an input and an output side of a cell exchange section 2 and uses a management information maintenance section 9-i, to execute the provision processing of exchange information required for the cell exchange section 2 as to input cells and rewrite processing of an asynchronous transfer mode(ATM) cell header or the like as to input cells or output cells to/from the cell exchange section 2. Each of the input cell processing section 7-i and the output cell processing section 8-i is provided with a fixed sequencer and a microcode sequencer and uses the microcode sequencer to execute complicated protocol processing, like a management function such as an OAM function and an RM function. |
