<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the new subject T-cell strain for transformation model to leukemia, having the sensitivity for HTLV-II, expressing the protein of an infected virus after infection with the virus and converting into those cells having a property of interleukin-2 independency after continuing culture. SOLUTION: This strain is a new human mature T-cell strain (ex: TY 8-3 or the like) having the sensitivity for HTLV-II. After infection with this virus, the cell strain expresses the protein of the infected virus, gains an independent property on interleukin-2 by continuing culture and is possible to utilize as a transformation model to leukemia due to HTLV-II. This new human mature T-cell strain is obtained by floating a human tissue containing lymphocyte in an ordinary medium for tissue culture, stimulating it by adding a mitogen followed by culturing in a medium containing interleukin-2, selecting cells converted to the strain capable of subculturing, and selecting the cells infectious to HTLV-II and independent on IL-2 among these cells.</p> |
