PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To favorably replace a frictional element at the time of shift by regulating the releasing action of a releasing side frictional element until the fastening preparation of a fastening side frictional element is completed. SOLUTION: As shown by a symbol (c), while servo apply pressure is controlled, operating pressure is retained in such oil pressure that a forward clutch is made to be in a condition just before fastening or just before releasing, and also at a point of time when a turbine rotational speed N to is increased to a value near to a rotational speed Nt after shift by the slip of a brake by the control of the servo apply pressure, this operating pressure is raised to a predetermined value, the forward clutch is fastened, and the brake is completely released. In this case, forward clutch pressure and servo release pressure are previously raised to pressure just before fastening or just before releasing, therefore the forward clutch and the brake are immediately fastened or released without causing the delay of response so as to replace a frictional element. |
