PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To execute IC protection and to prevent a malfunction inside an electronic circuit by forming the discharging circuit of a storage part by means of prescribed electrode pads on a memory card and prescribed contacts in an equipment in the midst of the inserting/ejecting operation of the memory card. SOLUTION: When the memory card 1 is inserted to the electronic equipment, recording information peculiar to the card, which is recorded in IC 3 being a memory element is given to the electronic circuit of the electronic equipment 10 with the contacts 5a and 5b which are brought into contact with the electrode pads 4a and 4b of the memory card 1. In the configuration, the grounded contacts 5c and 5d are brought into contact with the grounded electrode pad 4c on the memory card 1 in process for ejecting the memory card 1 so as to form the discharging circuit of the electricity storage parts. Then, an IC protecting device is constituted by setting a timing so as to permit the grounded electrode pad 4c to be brought into contact with the grounded contacts 5c and 5d before the signal contacts 5a and 5b are brought into contact with the signal electrode pad 4a and to close the discharging circuit on the card.
