PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize a continuously variable transmission with regard to operating efficiency and occurrence of a noise by providing means for detecting an acoustic wave, and forming a control signal by being at least depending on the detected acoustic wave. SOLUTION: An acoustic wave sensor 17 measures the travelling noise of belts or a chain 9. This noise is especially generated by friction between driving and driven side V-shaped belts. Hereat, the acoustic wave sensor 17 detects an acoustic wave and a noise as fluctuation of air pressure. Radii of first and second side belts and the chain 9 are set by primary and secondary side pressure. Therefore, a pressure controller 604 and a hydraulic reservoir 605 are arranged in this controller. If necessary, pressure can be detected by a pressure sensor 606. Further, a valve 603 for reducing or increasing the primary side pressure, is arranged in this controller. A transmission gear ratio and a belt tension control part are controlled by an electrical control unit ECU. |
