<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropanein high yield and high selectivity by using a specific catalyst and carrying out the reaction through a specific process in the liquid-phase fluoridation of 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane. SOLUTION: An antimony compound is used as a catalyst to effect the continuous reactions as 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane and/or hydrogen fluoride is continuously fed to the reaction zone. As an antimony catalyst, an antimony pentahalide, particularly antimony pentachloride or antimony trichloride is preferred. The concentration of the catalyst is approximately 2-22mol% based on 1,1,1,3,3-pentafluoropropane. The reaction is carried out at 10-150 deg.C, particularly 50-130 deg.C at a pressure of 1.0-100.0kg/cm<2> , particularly of 5-30kg/cm<2> . In the continuous process, the molar ratio of hydrogen fluoride to 1,1,1,3,3- pentafluoropropane is properly 5-30, particularly 6-20.</p> |
