PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make recording and reproduction possible by means of a laser light with a short wave length range and to make light resistance and storage stability excellent by incorporating a compd. of a specified formula in a recording layer. SOLUTION: An optical recording medium is prepd. by providing a recording layer on a base sheet directly or through a primer layer and if necessary, a reflective and a protective layers thereon. At least one kind of a compd. of formula I or II (wherein M is a bi-, tri- or tetra-valent metal atom which may have two hydrogen, oxygen or a halogen atom or a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, aryl group, alkoxy group, aryloxy group, etc., and X<1> -X<4> and X<5> -X<8> are respectively independently a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a cyano group, a substituted or an unsubstituted linear or branched alkyl group, an alkylalkoxy group, a carboxylate group, a substituted or unsubstituted alkoxy group or aryl group or aryloxy group or alkylthio group or aryl thio group or benzyl group or benzyloxy group, etc.) is incorporated in the recording layer. |
