PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a temperature of exhaust gas from being increased when an engine is being operated at a high load under an application of an air fuel ratio control without detecting a temperature of the exhaust gas and to restrain an increasing of consumption amount of fuel or deterioration of exhaust emission. SOLUTION: As an amount of intake air is increased on the basis of an intake air volume Qa, a target air fuel ratio in respect to an engine is set to be more rich (a step S11), a real air fuel ratio of the engine is detected in reference to a table on the basis of an output value Vλof a linear 02 sensor (a step S12), an air fuel ratio correction coefficient Kλis set in reference to both these air fuel ratios (a step S13), a fuel injection pulse width Te set in response to an operating state of the engine is corrected in reference to this air fuel ratio correction coefficient Kλand then a fuel infection pulse width Ti for defining a final injection volume of fuel supplied to the engine is set.
