PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data processor by which a flow control function is revised, depending on an operating mode. SOLUTION: A network adapter 110 connecting a data processing unit 100 to a packet exchange network 190 is provided with transmission/reception DMA control information registers 116, 117, so as to designate a transmission/reception suppression period corresponding to the operating mode of the data processing unit. At the occurrence of congestion in a reception buffer, transmission suppression is instructed to a transmitter side equipment, CPU interruption takes place at a point of time when the reception suppression period elapses and reception buffer release or reception packet abort processing is executed. Thus, the data processing unit is operated in different operating modes, such as a parallel processing network and a distributed processing network. |
