PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interrupt the printing process at a desired timing and to suppress the consumption of waste print sheet to the minimum limit by a constitution to forcibly stop the operation of a printing mechanism in receiving either an alarm signal or a pseudo alarm signal by a mechanical controller. SOLUTION: A pseudo signal output unit 8 has a pseudo signal generator 8a for generating substantially the same pseudo alarm signal as an alarm signal output from a sheet sensor S, and a signal output unit 8b for detecting the depression of an emergency stop button 6a as an external command to output a pseudo alarm signal. The output terminal of the unit 8b is connected together with the output terminal of the sensor S to the input terminal of an OR gate 9, and its output is input to a mechanical controller 3. Accordingly, the printing process is immediately interrupted by the controller 3 according to either the time point of detecting the no sheet state by the sensor S and outputting the alarm signal and the time point of outputting the pseudo alarm signal based on the command. |
