PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To lower the heat recovery temperature and utilize methanol synthesis reactions as a process of high heat utilization from view points of the equipment cost and the operation cost in a conversion system between thermal energy and chemical energy. SOLUTION: Both reactions of (A) the formula: 2CH3 OH↑HCOOCH3 +2H2 and of (B) the formula: H2 O+HCOOCH3 ↑CH3 OH+HCOOH are utilized to recover heat and the heat is utilized with the reaction of (C) the formula: HCOOH+2H2 ↑+CH3 OH. The heat energy can be recovered by carrying out the reactions of formula A and B at a lowered temperature, while the heat is utilized because the reactions of formula C is conducted at an elevated temperature. In a preferable embodiment, the reactions of formula A and/or formula B are carried out on a liquid phase and the reaction product is separated by reactive distillation. |
