PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sized glass fiber yarn little in fuzzes and improved in flyability at a low cost without requiring a twisting process by adhering a sizing agent containing a water-soluble epoxy resin-modified product and/or a water-soluble urethane compound to a glass fiber yarn. SOLUTION: A water-soluble epoxy-modified product having a mol.wt. of 1,000-100,000 and obtained by subjecting <=30wt.% of an epoxy resin and >=70wt.% of a polyhydric alcohol having a mol.wt. of 600-10,000 to an addition reaction and/or a water-soluble urethane compound having a mol.wt. of 20,000-400,000 and obtained by reacting <=30wt.% of a polyisocyanate with >=70wt.% of a polyhydric alcohol having a mol.wt. of 5,000-20,000 is dissolved in water in an amount of 0.2-8.0wt.% to obtain a sizing agent for glass fibers. 0.05-2.00wt.% of the sizing agent is adhered to a glass fiber yarn having a fiber diameter of 3μm to ten and severalμm and a fineness of 900-37 count to obtain the glass fiber yarn sized with the sizing agent. |
