PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To previously prevent shift busy after shift by providing means for prohibiting shift up at the time of ascent judgement. SOLUTION: An engine speed after shift is calculated in means 39 from a vehicle speed and the gear ratio of a target speed required for shifting. Shift down is judged in means 36 from the present gear position of a transmission and the target speed required for shifting. Similarly, shift up is judged in means 37 from the present gear position and the target speed required for shifting. When the engine speed after shift is higher than an overrun engine speed at the time of shift down judgement, shift down to the target speed is prohibited by means 40. When judging an ascent condition at the time of shift up judgement, shift up to the target speed is prohibited by means 41 until the engine speed is set to a predetermined value (shift up point) or more during an ascent condition judging period. |
