The skate has a main frame (1) which holds the wheels (2,3,4). An auxiliary frame (9) is articulated to the back of the main frame and holds the back wheel (8). A lever (13), articulated on the main frame, locks the auxiliary frame in position and is released by rocking the boot (5) backwards. The lever has a notch (12b) in which a bar (11) on the auxiliary frame engages. The auxiliary frame is brought into its locked position by a spring (23), when the leg is straightened. The back end of the lever is articulated to a bar (16) joined to the boot.
