A flexible tie of a resiliently deformable material for the mouthpiece (1) of a wind instrument is disclosed, the profile of said tie being substantially complementary to that of the mouthpiece so as to enclose both the mouthpiece and a reed (2) inserted between the mouthpiece (1) and the tie (3). Two spaced portions (5a, 5b) of the tie have respective facing edges substantially parallel to the generators of the mouthpiece, wherein the said two portions are attached by at least one attachment screw (9) transversally disposed therebetween, which co-operates with a threaded bore of at least one of said portions, and a rigid wedge member (10) with a shape complementary to that of the reed or the mouthpiece of the instrument is inserted between the tie and said reed or mouthpiece. The wedge member (10) of the invention is removable and can be clipped onto the said one or more attachment screws (9) of the tie.
