Planking providing a passive fire fighting function is disclosed comprising a first extrusion (100) having a grating surface (110) and a plurality of channels (140) extending therefrom, each channel containing spaced apart layers of heat conductive material for permitting liquid passing through the grating surface (110) to pass through the material and for conducting localized heat from one location to a more even, lower temperature spread generally through the material, and a second extrusion (160) comprising a plurality of further channels (185) corresponding to the channels (140) of the first extrusion for catching liquid that passes through the material. The extrusions are bonded together to form a single unit. |
