An inking mechanism (2) for printing machines is disclosed for applying liquid media. The object of the invention is to create an inking mechanism (2) capable of processing various different media. This problem is solved by a form grid roller (3) that can be set against the engraved cylinder (1), a chamber doctor blade (6) which may be selectively associated to the form grid roller, and/or a supply system (10) which may be selectively associated to the form grid roller (3).
