The switch has a transverse blade carrier (2) pivotally mounted on a framework. The carrier (2) carries at least one radially extending switch blade (3), and is formed of a carrier section rail with a U-shaped cross-section. The switch blade (3) is seated with its base end in the space between the legs of the U-shaped carrier section. Locating members (2.2) are provided at the axial end sections of the carrier rail. The switch blade (3) may be fixed with its base end attached to the bridge of the U-shaped section. An electrically conductive rod may be inserted between the base of the blade (3) and the carrier section.
