The device for processing foliage and leaves has an enclosed cavity (2) into which the leaves are transported by an air flow against gravity. This cavity contains numerous rapidly rotating steel wires (6) or strips, which strike the leaf mould as it passes by and the leaf mould is blown out by the air flow. If strips are used, the air flow may itself be created by the rotation of these strips, which are suitably angled against the direction of rotation. The stripes or the wires may arranged so as to be movable in the direction of rotation.
