<p>A manually operated device is disclosed which is suitable for the controlled dispensing of portions of paper, to be used as towels, from a continuous roll (10) mounted inside the device. For safety purposes, the cutting blade (4), which acts on the paper strip in a radial direction from outside towards the inside of a dragging roller (2) by entering a longitudinal slot (21) thereof, is mounted on a cutting assembly by means of a pivoted and laterally driven fork (5), means being provided suitable to retain said blade (4) in a rest position during the introduction of the paper from a new feed roll (10). The driving member (8) of the cutting assembly is pivoted on a lateral wall of the paper dragging roller (2) and, during the rotation of said roller (2), normally engages a side arm (6) of the cutting assembly through an extension (11).</p> |
