The fastener has a driven dowel with a body (5) with a central bore. The body has an outer surface which is roughened. The rugosity is formed by erosion. the outer surface can have a surface depth of VDI 3.400 Ref .42-.45. The roughened surface can be formed on a ring tooth form (8) of the body. The teeth can have a saw-toothed shape to allow elastic gripping of the walls of the mounting bore in the masonry.
