DIN standard multiple terminal plug e.g. for monitoring and communications applications

The plug device has a plug with contact pins and a protective collar with a distinctive lug. The device also has a socket with a sleeve insert with contact sockets and with a distinctive groove on the socket housing. One or more additional contacts (12) in engagement with each other when the plug and socket are connected, are provided. The contacts are arranged on the plug (1) on the inner circumference of the protective collar (3) and in the socket (5) on the outer circumference of the insert (6). The contacts (12) are preferably leaf spring contacts.. In the plug these may be anchored in a base plate on the collar and may pass through the base plate forming rear terminal ends (14).
