Deep hole drilling unit

The deep hole drilling unit (1) has a chip collector (7) and at least one spindle (8) which can rotate in a spindle housing (21). A tool mounting (29) holds the tool. A forward wall (6) of the unit has a tool guide (3) in it which has an axial tool guide opening (4). The unit has a rear wall (9) with an axial opening. The rear wall can slide axially relative to the forward wall. Side walls (12,13,14,16,17,18) together with the forward and rear walls form an enclosure around the tool and act as a chip collection container. The rear wall has a bearing mounting for the spindle.
