In order to maximise the ratio between lateral force and force of resistance of a profiled body, the invention teaches dimensionally stiff, stressed-skin front (1) and rear segments (2) articulated on the watercraft. The flexible middle segment (3) allows the profile to be automatically adjusted by the lateral pressure. Depending on the advance direction, a laterally reversed profile with a curved median line is obtained. This profiled body is particularly useful as fin, keel or ballast keel for wind-driven watercraft.
