Vehicle roof with air vent

The fixed vehicle roof (10) has one or more vents (14) with cowls (16) generating a vacuum at the outlet (36) dependent on vehicle speed. The cowl covers an opening (20) in the roof. One or more components (5) under the cowl regulate the air current from the vehicle interior (62) and which is generated by the vacuum. The vent can be situated in the rear quarter of the roof and on the centreline of the roof, or there can be a vent in both the left- and the right-hand half of the roof. The leading edge (24) of the cowl can be roughly at roof level, while from this it slopes upwards to the trailing edge (26), the vent opening being below the trailing edge.
