Hollow strip bearer, e.g. steering cross bearer of vehicle

The bearer (1) is made of two trough-shaped strips (2,3) which rest against each other at welded flanges (4,6;5,7), where they are welded to each other. A reinforcement part (8) is fitted inside the bearer, running along it. The reinforcement part is welded on at attachment surfaces (9,10) between the two pairs of welding flanges. There are several ribs (13) running across the main direction of the reinforcement part, to make it more rigid. These ribs may be triangular. The reinforcement part may be indirectly led from one pair of welded flanges to the opposite pair of welded flanges.
