ALKYLATED POROUS RESIN, PROCESS FOR PRODUCTION THEREOF, AND USE THEREOF

An alkylated porous resin having a specific surface area of 50 to 600 m<2>/g, obtained by polymerizing a monomer mixture comprising, based on the total weight of monomers, 15 to 97 % by weight of divinylbenzene, 0 to 82 % by weight of at least one aromatic vinyl monomer selected from among styrene, methylstyrene and ethylvinylbenzene and 3 to 50 % by weight of a vinylbenzyloxyalkane of general formula (1) wherein n is an integer of 1 to 18. By varying the chain length of the alkyl group, this resin can have its functions fully exerted on the basis of the variation of chemical and structural environments of the surface thereof.
