Printer with printing units and continuous conveyor belt

The conveyor belt (4) for the substrate being printed runs over at least two spaced-apart rollers (5,6) past the printer units. The rollers are mounted on a cohesive belt-support unit (9) from which the conveyor belt is drawn when un-tensioned. The printer has a laterally pulled-out batten (24) extending beneath the belt support unit and which can be switched between at least two different states. In the first state, the belt support unit is fixed in an operating position by the holder (11-21). In the second state, the belt support unit rests loosely on the batten. One side wall (1) of the printer has an opening (23) through which the batten together with the belt support unit is pulled out of the printer. The conveyor belt is tensioned by the pre-tensioned tension roller (26) on the batten.
