Contact element with base punched from sheet metal

The contact element has a contact base body formed from being punched from sheet metal. The contact element (1) has a plastic sleeve (2) surrounding the base body in parts. Preferably the outer contour of the plastic sleeve (2) is matched to the inner contour of a contact element chamber of a plug connector housing. The contact base body may be a spring arm contact element e.g. a flat forked spring or round plug spring. The contact element is e.g. a miniature contact element. The element may have locking or abutment means which may be formed so that the plastic sleeve is permanently fastened to the base body.
