The invention concerns a method of identifying people, animals and objects. The aim of the invention is to be able to identify an object, a person or an animal in a large crowd or herd or in a vast landscape and also at night-time. The method according to the invention comprises the following steps: an object to be identified is marked with a luminescent dye which is energized by UV radiation in the invisible range and emits IR radiation; an area to be swept in order to locate the object is irradiated with UV radiation in the energizing range; and the area irradiated with UV radiation is checked for the appearance of an IR response signal in the emission range of the dye by means of an IR detection device. |
