The description relates to a process for producing cylinder heads for internal combustion engines by pouring the liquid cylinder head material, especially aluminium, into a cylinder head mould containing a mould core (2) having stepped sections (4, 3) in the region of the valve seat ring (8) and the valve guide (7). The special feature of this process is that valve seat rings (8) and valve guides (7) are produced from a conventional material based on steel or copper by pressing and sintering in such a way that they have an open pore volume of 5 to 15 %, a valve seat (8) and/or a valve guide (7) are laid on the stepped sections (4, 3) of the mould core (2), whereafter liquid aluminium is poured into the preheated mould and the mould core (2) is removed in the conventional way after the molten aluminium (1) has solidified. |
