Perforating apparatus (40, 70) is provided for use with a Heidelberg type offset printing press (10) for selectively printing pages with consecutive page numbering as well as transverse and longitudinal perforation. The transverse perforating means (40) is mounted on the driven shaft assembly which supports the numbering box (18) whereby each successively engages pages being printed to number and form transverse perforations. Indexing means (26) is supported by the frame mounting in conventional manner, however the indexing means (26) which normally extends into the operating cylinder (42) is arranged whereby it may be displaced from the operating cylinder (42) by engagement with the transverse perforating means (40). The longitudinal perforation apparatus (70) is supported in the space (37) bounded by the operating cylinder (42), the impression cylinder (16) and the transfer cylinder (14) whereby it may operate independently of other ancillary equipment mounted on the driven shaft (22) or supported by the frame mounting (30).
