The device has an automatic switching or changeover arrangement to a radio transmission which takes place only when the RDS displays a certain program characteristic, and the time measurement indicates a preset time, or a time interval of a number of preset time intervals. Preferably the preset time intervals are full or half hours. Typically the radio unit contains a RAM for the preset time intervals, and contains several sections each allocated to a radio transmitter. The time intervals contained in the RAM are freely adjustable by the user.
