A pharmaceutical aerosol formulation which comprises particulate medicament, a fluorocarbon of hydrogen-containing chlorofluorocarbon propellant and a surfactant of general formula (I), wherein n is an integer of 1 to 18; m is an integer of 0 to 17; and R1, R2 and R3 are each independently a hydrogen atom or a C1-4alkyl group. Said aerosol formulation is suitable for administration into the lungs or nasal cavity of a patient.
