PURPOSE:To obtain a high recording sensitivity and a superior printability in offset printing by a method wherein a protective layer contains one compound selected out of a group made of higher fatty amide, the substd. modified compound thereof, aromatic bisamide, and substd. urea and a polyvinyl alcohol, and the surface of the protective layer has a specific Bekk smoothness. CONSTITUTION:As a higher fatty amide or the substd. modified compound thereof, the following compound can be exemplified. An m.p. 86 deg.C lauric amide of satd. fatty monoamide group, an m.p. 123 deg.C aromatic bisamide m - xylene bisstearic amide, and an m.p. 98 deg.C substd. urea N - butyl - N' - stearyl urea. Furthermore, a polyvinyl alcohol having a saponification value of 90 or below and a polyvinyl alcohol of a saponification value of 95 or more are compounded in combination in a 1/9 - 9/1 ratio. The surface of a protective layer has a Bekk smoothness of 400sec or more for improving the close contact properties of a thermal head with the surface of the protective layer and obtaining an efficient thermal conductivity. |
