PURPOSE:To improve a traveling property and durability by incorporating a specific aliphat. ester lubricating agent into the front or rear face of the magnetic recording medium having a magnetic layer or the boundary face of the magnetic layer and substrate. CONSTITUTION:The aliphat. ester lubricating agent expressed by the formula I or II is incorporated into the magnetic layer or is incorporated into the protec tive layer on the magnetic layer, the back coat layer on the rear face of the substrate and further the primer coating layer under the magnetic layer. In the formulas I, II, R1 and R3 are a straight chain or branched hydrocarbon group of 8-20C; R2 and R4 are a straight chain or branched hydrocarbon group of 0-4C; M is a hydrocarbon group of a cyclic structure expressed by CH2n where n is 3-7. The traveling property and durability are thereby improved. |
