PURPOSE:To efficiently obtain 1,1,1-trifluorochloroethane useful as a refrigerant, etc., in high yield by reacting trichoroethylene with hydrogen fluoride, recycling the resultant reactional mixture as a diluent gas to the reactional system and removing hydrogen chloride formed as a by-product. CONSTITUTION:Trichloroethylene is made to react with hydrogen fluoride in the vapor phase in the presence of a fluorinating catalyst to produce a reactional mixture, which is then recycled as a diluent gas to the reactional system. During the time, hydrogen chloride formed as a by-product is removed to afford the objective compound. |
