The control system allows the valve (13) to be coupled to a pressure and/or suction source in synchronism with the operating clock of the machine, which has a clock frequency adjusted between a min. and a max. value. The valve has an internal rotating valve component (17) with superimposed adjustment of the setting rate, until reaching a defined phase position dependent on the operating speed of the sheet handling machine.
