PURPOSE:To make a key-ON response fast without increasing the capacity of buffers and to efficiently assign the timbre of musical sound information at the time of an automatic performance. CONSTITUTION:Data are transferred to buffers BUF0-1-BUF7-1 according to respective track maximum simultaneous sounding quantities (i.e., contents of register SNMAX(TR)). In this example, the transferred data are microprograms used by tone generators TG0-TG7. Their distribution is performed according to a predetermined distribution rule. There are methods which give priority to musical instruments large in simultaneous sounding quantity and high in importance as the rule. For example, when up to 8 piano sounds, up to 6 strings sounds, and one brass sound and one base sound are generated simultaneously, data on the piano sounds are transferred to the buffers BUF01-BUF3-1, data on strings sounds are transferred to the buffers BUF4-1-BUF6-1, and data on the base sound are transferred to the BUF7-1. |
