<p>The method involves positioning a light directing mechanism proximate a face of the fibre bundle. A test light signal is transmitted through the input fibre, the test light signal is directed toward light directing mechanism. The test light signal is collimated to produce a collimated test light signal. The collimated test light signal is redirected with the light directing mechanism. The collimated test light signal is focused at the face of the fibre bundle. The light directing mechanism is altered to cause a scanning of the face of the fibre bundle with the test light signal. An orientation of the light directing mechanism is identified during the scanning that directs light to the at least one output fibre.</p> |
