<p>The overload protection switch has a housing (1,2) and a pair of contacts (3,4) arranged in the housing (1,2). A switch (5,7) operates the contact pair (3,4) so that they are held open in a first switch state and close in a second state. An interrupt device (42,6) arranged in the housing (1,2) interrupts the current flow via the contacts (3,4) when the current exceeds a predetermined value. The switch includes a slider (5) with a front, operating end (52) and a rear drive end (55). The slider (5) is arranged to move longitudinally in the housing (1,2) such that in a forward position, the operating end (52) engages with the contact pair (3,4) and holds them open. In a retracted position, it is out of engagement with the contacts (3,4). A curved guide (18) is provided in the housing (1,2). When the slider (5) moves longitudinally, the guide (18) guides its operating end (52) in a transverse direction.
