摘要 PURPOSE: To provide a suction diaphragm type gas sensor which can detect gas leaks in a short time after the occurrence of the leakage, with its detection sensitivity not decreased even if the distance of a detecting end to the gas sensor is increased, and a gas sensing method using the same. CONSTITUTION: This suction diaphragm type gas sensor has a first gas flow passage part 11 and a second gas flow passage part 12 which are separated into two chambers. First and second check valves 13, 14 are provided at the respective front stages of the gas flow passage parts 11, 12, and first and second suction stop valves 15, 16 at their respective rear stages, and as the valves are opened and closed, the first and second gas flow passage parts 11, 12 are alternately switched over between a gas sucking state and a gas retaining state, and the two-chamber gas flow passage parts share a common diaphragm 6.
