<p>A drum brake device is provided comprising a first and second brake shoe (2,3) disposed on a back plate (1). One set of adjacent ends (2a,3a) of the brake shoes (2,3) engage a brake actuator (8). The other adjacent ends (2b,3b) engage a fixed anchor block (9). An idler link (11) is pivotally mounted on one of the brake shoes, which engages at one end with a shoe clearance adjustment device (12) and at its other end with a parking brake actuator (18). The force urging the other adjacent ends (2b,3b) of the brake shoes (2,3) together is greater than the force urging the one set of adjacent ends (2a,3a) of the brake shoes (2,3) together.</p> |
