The present invention is directed to a hydraulic composition comprising (a) a water soluble polymer, (b) a superplasticizer which is a copolymer obtained by polymerizing a monomer (C-1) represented by the following Formula (1) with at least one monomer (C-2) selected from the compounds represented by the following Formulas (2) and (3): <IMAGE> Formula (1) (wherein R1 and R2 each represent hydrogen or methyl; ml represents an integer of 0 to 32; AO represents an oxyalkylene group having a carbon number of 2 to 3; n represents an integer of 2 to 300; and X represents hydrogen or an alkyl group having a carbon number of 1 to 3); <IMAGE> Formula (2) <IMAGE> Formula (3) (wherein R3 to R5 each represent hydrogen, methyl or (CH2)m2COOM2; R6 represents hydrogen or methyl; M1, M2 and Y each represent hydrogen, alkali metal, alkaline earth metal, ammonium, alkylammonium, or substituted alkylammonium; and M2 represents an integer of 0 to 2); and (c) a hydraulic powder.
