PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recover an org. compd. in a waste liquid and to incinerate a solid content without producing a clinker by adding water to a soln, comprising an org. compd. containing a polymer to recover the org. compd. and then incinerating the polymer soln. after the org. compd. is recovered. SOLUTION: A soln. comprising a polymer such as PVA and PVAc, and an alkali metal salt such as NaoAc is, if necessary, preliminary distilled to separate and concentrate the residue by a separating means such as a distillation device 2. Then the concentrated soln. is sent to a distillation column 7, to which water is added. The soln. with addition of water is supplied to the top stage of the column 7 where the polymer and the alkali metal salt are drained in a soln. state of the solid content through the bottom of the column. The soln. of the solid content is introduced into an incinerator 9 and incinerated. Thereby, the org. compd. is efficiently recovered from the waste liquid, while the polymer and alkali metal salt can be processed in a liquid state without producing a clinker or environmental pollution.
