PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a sensitive material contg. a coupled dye having the same configuration as an associated body of dyes by incorporating a coupled dye obtd. by fixing dyes so that their planes overlap each other. SOLUTION: A coupled dye obtd. by fixing cyanine dyes so that their planes overlap each other is incorporated so as to always carry out absorption by an associated body of cyanine dyes. The overlap means 0-45 deg.C angle between the planes and the vertical length from the center of one of the dyes to the plane of the other is preferably 2-6Å. The coupled dye is, e.g. a compd. represented by the formula A1-S-A2 (where each of A1 and A2 is a cyanine dye and S is a spacer made of a residue of an arom. compd.).
